The Supreme Court

The Supreme Court

It begins with a request. After a preliminary through the locale courts to recognize current realities, then, at that point, a second preliminary through the redrafting courts to decide if fair treatment was followed, a case can be appealed to be attempted by the high court. However, this isn't ensured. The Supreme Court just takes around 100-150 cases each year out of around 7,000. Since the Supreme Court has "certiorari" or the force of the court to single out which cases they take and don't take, every one of the nine judges has a group of legal counselors to channel through the cases and help in picking which cases they really attempt.

The purpose of the Supreme Court justice hears oral arguments and make decisions on cases granted certiorari. Certiorari is a writer or order by which a higher court reviewed a decision of a lower court.  They are usually cases in controversy from lower appeals courts. It also functions as guardian and interpreter of the Constitution. You may wonder why, “why do we need the Supreme Court”. However, the Supreme Court plays a very important role in our Constatations. As I watched the video, I acquired new pieces of information that I didn’t know about the Supreme Court and its justices. For example, that they must wait until the issue it brought to them.

The SCOTUS is not always truly right and just thought.  In the Case of the Dred Scott decision of 1857 in Dred Scott v. Sanford, the Court ultimately decided that Dred Scott, a slave at the time, was not entitled to his freedom even though he resided in a free state and stated that the United States Constitution did not include people of African descent in the term "American Citizenship".

Today's court uses the constitution to solve national problems. Over 200 years of history led to the constitution being better interpreted. The court uses the trial court to understand if the lower court applied the law properly, or if the law is constitutional. Additionally, the court can pick and choose which cases they take.
