One song that come straight to my head, when i think about a theme song that i am going to relate to making the transition from high school to college at the end of the semester is Good Old Days by Macklemore. It was released on September 19,2017 and since then he has sold 48,000 digital copies in the United States.

As time passes, people often think of their pasts and what they have done in their life, both positively and negatively. The lyrics of the song resonate with everyone, even the famous singer Macklemore who produced the song “Good Old Days.” In the song, he reflects on his past and the times he missed or regretted. Macklemore also writes “We’ve come so far, I guess I’m proud” which also shows that he’s happy with the choices he made and that they have gotten him to where he is now—a famous musician and writer.The music in the song has an upbeat, sad, and appealing tone to the lyrics. It gives listeners a unique, deep emotional connection with one's past and future in a simplistic, but pathos way. It is used to reference a time considered by the speaker to be better than the current era. It is a form of nostalgia which can reflect homesickness or yearning for long-gone moments.

 

This song relates to me because the artist takes about growing up and memories all the little thing you did when you were young are now memories that you think about and enjoy. And that we are still growing up. Going to school in North Carolina and leaving my family in New York, was very hard for me, but listen to this song give me a little hope that better things are coming. It also remembers me of the “better days”, and all the memories I have as a young girl with my family and friends.

 

As you listen to the song, it makes you think about your life and what gets you through it and all the memories you made along the way of the journey of your life. The lyrics are very simplistic which helps to make the song relatable to its listeners. Good lyrics are the reason for a top hit song. And how one big thing, the big thing for me was going to college far away is going to change your life forever. “Now that I'm here, wishing I was still young, those good old days” as Macklemore said, we also dreamed about going to college and now that we are here, we wish we were babies again. This song is so powerful I feel to everyone because anyone can connect to this song on different purpose of life.
